Engineered Walls:
Gather Data to answer the basic questions asked when designing an engineered wall by filling out the SRW Preliminary Design Request Form Fax, email or bring “The request form” to Landis Block and it will be submitted for a “Preliminary “Pre Bid” design drawing” showing geogrid placement, stones, caps and adhesive needed for the job. There is no charge for this service. If you need a stamped print of this work it can be arranged for an up charge per sq ft. Directions and Installation Procedures are available at VYKING.NET Vyking Walls over 3’ in height may require the services of a licensed engineer trained in Segmented Retaining Walls (SRW). Obtain a copy of “Segmental Retaining Wall Installation Guide” published by the National Concrete Masonry Association and become familiar with the best practices for installation of this type of wall system. There are Standard Geogrid Placement tables available at Vyking.net for certain walls that meet the criteria discussed. Consult the local municipal authority for applicable building codes governing SRW Walls. Vyking Technical Hotline 573-230-4974 (7 DAYS) CALL: 215-723-5506 FAX: 215-723-5500 WEB: http://landisbc.com

If there are three things every builder should understand about SRWs, they are reinforcement, compaction and drainage. Georgrid soil reinforcement is the re-bar of SRWs. Many building codes require permitting for walls taller than 4 feet, which typically results in a design submittal of some form. Furthermore, depending on the size and weight of the SRW unit, geogrid soil reinforcement might be necessary to ensure stability of the entire structure. |
