“The Stone with the built in Corner”

Vyking 8” block with “Knobs” are “cored” (hollow) and are filled with stone as the wall is built. When making corners for the 8” block follow the illustration below,  there are groves to cut the block in half as well as cut off the “web”, this will then make two “stub” corners that will be attached with masonry adhesive.

 

 Corners should not be cut for “adjustment”,  normally the block next to the corner is adjusted for setback and to keep the joints in the middle of the block row above.

Remove the knob with a Chisel.

Cut and Discard the “Web” section of the Vyking Stone.

Make a “score line” on the top and bottom of the remaining part of the stone, Make a few passes with the chisel on the premade grove on the back of the piece. The process produces 2 corner pieces that are glued in place.
